Wedding So it's been...what, almost a month since I last updated? I finally got my internet back after about 3 weeks, and then there was spring break and the wedding. Only four weeks from Monday until school is over and I can work on my diary as much as I want to, so yay!But first, the wedding. I'm not quite sure how to respond when people ask how it was. I suppose "interesting" describes it best. It was held in the oldest church and Miami with a reception in the hotel banquet hall overlooking Biscayne Bay, and both were gorgeous. And of course Nicole was every bit the diva, star of the show. She was beautiful and I will admit that I cried during the ceremony. But now for the interesting part. The bride's mother? Is a PsychoBitch. The woman is like a mixture of Vivi from the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Emily Gilmore, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and an extra shot of vodka thrown in for good measure. And she is a 4TH GRADE TEACHER. Good morning boys and girls, anyone up for a mimosa? To describe her perfectly, the bride and groom had a white antique Rolls-Royce waiting to take them to the reception, but while they are inside the church taking pictures, the queen bee decides that SHE deserves it. So she and her helpless husband hop in and speed off (the driver apparently didn't know any better), leaving the newlyweds stranded on the curb without a ride for half an hour. And the mother, predictably, goes to the reception, gets stark raving drunk, and has a grand old time. But the facts that the weather was perfect, that almost everything went off without a hitch, and that the valet guy, French waiter guy, and bride's best friend's boyfriend were all very cute made the trip an enjoyable one. In more recent news, we had our high school orientation last week, and I signed up for Spanish and art. I'm still nervous, but hey, they had peanut butter cookies and orange juice. Excluding the school-wear-modeling dummy in the hall, it wasn't all that scary. Bet I'll feel a hell of a lot different on the first day. 2003-04-23 @ 8:36 p.m. |
