Interesting. I was thinking, while I was wading through the endless sea of crap that was the evolution project, about a connection between homosexuality and evolution. I'd thought before that it would make sense as a sort of genetic response to overpopulation. It makes a whole lot of sense to me, but I didn't want to post it because I was afraid someone would get offended. And believe me, I don't mean to offend. Well, most of the time at least. But I Googled it, and along with of a lot of irritating "gay people support evolution!!! *freakout*" articles, I found that I'm not the only one who's had this apparently not-so-profound thought. Well, um, duh. Why would I be the only one? It seems rather obvious. Anyway, this explains things a lot better than I can. All goes to show that, contrary to some friends' beliefs, it is completely. freaking. normal. So shut your face about how "wrong" it is. I'm worried that said friend might be leaning toward "oh my gosh it's like totally wrong but gay guys are like so cool" attitude lately. I guess it's better than total unjustified disgust, but still...ick. Oh, and since we're going for a news-y pseudo-intellectual vibe here, a few kids from not too far from here saved their teacher, who looks an awful lot like my elementary school principal, from her knife-bearing estranged husband. They tackled the creep down and sat on him. Pretty cool. 2003-12-18 @ 10:28 p.m. |
