911 and 99x

Eek! Well that was interesting. A cute young cop came to my house because Laura "sat on the phone" and dialed 911 by accident. I was out being Santa-ing at the time, and had to stay on the phone with her to calm her down while my dad got gas and drove home. She was freaking out. "What happened, Laura?" "I-I-I-I-I-I-I s-s-sat on the *choke* *sob* *sputter* *sob* ph-ph-ph-ph-ph-phone...a....and...*SOB*" Jesus, girl, spit it out! All is well, though. We pulled in the driveway just as 17-year-old-looking cop was pulling out.

I Santa-ed at Katie's and the two Samantha's tonight. And I met Sammie Dora's baby kitty, Jolene (!!!), and brothers, Brat and Little Brat. Cuteness. Also, listened to 99x, which has apparently changed its format to "New Rock and '90s Alternative" after much berating from estranged fans. Nice gesture, playing music from your "roots," but the folks calling in and complaining about shitty music? They're talking about NOW, too, not just your occasional always-the-same-song Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

So I'm off to gather courage and leave a message on their special FU phone line, set up for just that purpose. I have a problem with phones. I'm not very good at talking, you see. But if I do it, I will say something along the lines of: "Great. '90s alternative. But that's not going to change the crap you play that's NEW. Why can't you be more like WOXY or KROQ? But especially WOXY, because they? Are superfantasticterrific. You're such corporate bitches, it's disgusting. Try playing something we haven't heard. Or at least something we haven't heard in the last hour."

Wish me luck. I tell you, I am not good at this phone thing.
